M0dd1ng (another non-music post)
I recently purchased a gameboy pocket from Amazon and I decided to start to get into modding. I've found a couple cool little mods that are real simple, the first one is an overclocking system that you can toggle, and the next one is the classic backlight. I should be getting my pocket soon, at that time I will commence ordering of parts and so the modding will begin.

Non-music post…
So totally unrelated to music, I learned that I could draw faces last night! I’ve always wanted to be good at drawing things but I could only draw inanimate objects, the rifle on a social studies project that I did last semester, for example, but last night I wanted to test my skills and the rest is history. I didn’t do too good on the eyes or mouth but everything else was pretty good in my opinion, I mean I’m not saying it’s amazing, but hey, I could never draw a face before! So now I’m starting to draw a face a day, and I’m improving each time.
Here’s the first drawing that I did:
and I’ll keep you updated!

Preposterous Hoodlum
I realize that I need to make more posts in order to satisfy the few people that actually do read my blog so I have a proposal for you; if who ever is reading this suggests my blog to their friends then I will post two updates every week. You may be asking “how will he know if we suggested it?” and the answer is I won’t, but if I don’t get the slightest rise in number of views within the next week I will probably continue my horrible posting habits. With that said I can now move on to the next band I will review. As I said in my last update, I have been listening to a lot of electronic music and so I decided to continue posting with that theme.
This next band is a very typical electronic band, they starred in a movie recently and I believe every person reading this has heard of them. You’ve probably guessed it but the band I am talking about is Daft Punk. I, being new to the whole electronic music scene, only have their newest album which is the soundtrack to “Tron: Legacy”, which they starred in. Considering that everyone said that this album wasn’t very good I would say Daft Punk is a very good band, mostly on the basis that when I hear an album that is said to not be good and then immediately go buy it and listen to it more than anything else at the time I assume that the band is good. With this said don’t criticize me, because I have heard some of their other songs and I am still impressed. One thing that I really like about Daft Punk is that even though they are an electronic band, some of their songs still have lyrics, even if it is a computer singing them. They have an amazing talent for making you want to hear more by starting soft and gradually growing stronger, or dropping of just to pound back again, I, as a writer, find this amazing. So over all I would say, if you like complicated melodies, catchy tunes and perfect musical technique then I would recommend you buy a Daft Punk album.

R+3(at)
You could say that I have been a little busy but that would be entirely untrue. I not only have done nothing productive in my video game business but I also hosted an extremely unsuccessful concert in which I may as well have been mindlessly typing a review for the one viewer that I have. I do have finals this week but that is unimportant because I could probably pass all of my finals while fighting off a hoard of zombies that have teamed up with ravens who are hell bent on pecking my eyes out. Simply put I’ve been far too lazy to write a review of any of the music that I listen to constantly.
I have been listening to mostly electronic gibberish these days so I decided to do a review of a DJ, or DJs I guess I should say, that have always amazed me with their musically irrational beats. If you have guessed that I am reviewing Ratatat then hats off to you because the way I put it, the artist could have been any number of new dubstep, house, or electronic dance artists.
To start my review I am going to say that I truly enjoy their newest album more than the only other album I own, LP3. Of the various oddities off of the latest addition to their collection of instrumental pieces, I definitely enjoy the tracks by the name of “Drugs” and “Neckbrace” the most. As unappealing and abrasive as these titles are, the music behind the names are very appealing to the irregular teen like me, that doesn’t smoke or drink. I feel that the constant heavy beat and hard pounding melody satisfies an instinctual need for heartbeat conforming rhythms which is present in all humans, modern day and before common era humanoids. So to sum it all up if you want something different from the everyday or if you want to be part of the modern underground scene and feel the need to test the waters first, Ratatat is a great place to start.
P.S. SUGGESTIONS NEEDED!

Blog Update
So when I started this blog I thought that it would have only one purpose; to review artists that have been recommended to me by my peers. But now it seems that since business is slow I am going to convert this into a dual-purpose-blog. It shall be not only for music but also for my newly developed “business” so basically music and video game design. The name, Sidewalk Games, was given to me by Zoriah Dean, who has no official title yet, and this logo was made by Steven King, who also has no official title, although I guess you could call him a programmer. Just let this serve as a warning and when I post something about “Game developing starting soon!” just remember this post and don’t think that I am horribly confused.

finally another post!
So I haven’t posted in a long time but for a good reason; I’ve been learning to program and I was making a flash game. As of now it is in Alpha and still needs to be tested but if you would like a copy, assuming anyone is even reading this, then just contact me. It is a side scrolling shooter where you are a “Chicken-bot” that is fighting against an army of “Taco-bots” trying to get to the main boss, which is a Taco Bell, and destroy it. I have to give partial credit of the plot to my friend Jon but I did program all of it.
On a different note I need more review ideas, I haven’t really found any new artists and reviewing things that you already listen to is boring so GIVE ME IDEAS!!! Thank you!

ANOTHER POST!?
Snow Patrol
I really only listen to one of their albums but I believe that album is extremely good, so I guess you could call this a review of “Final Straw” (above). I particularly like how mellow it is even when it is semi loud and I also like the use of simple guitaring because it sounds good but isn’t too complicated. One of the things that I am the most fond of is how sometimes the lyrics don’t rhyme, and if you write songs then you know how hard it is to write things that don’t rhyme but still sound good, or at least that is the case for me. In the way of being appealing but not too “pop like” it is definitely up there, mostly because it uses some aspects of pop so that it sounds good to a broad crowd but it isn’t disgustingly pop like so I give it a thumbs up.
I have listened to some of their other stuff and I think that I enjoy “Final Straw” the most but if I listened to some more of their music I would like it. I highly encourage everyone, especially those that write music, to listen to at least a couple songs off of this album.
